Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)

PPAP stands for Production Part Approval Process. It's a standardized method primarily used in the automotive industry to ensure that suppliers meet the requirements for the production of components. PPAP is a structured approach that confirms that the production process can consistently deliver parts that meet the customer's specifications.
All customer having their specific list of document in PPAP documents. It is vary from 15 to 40 documents.

The list of documents required for a PPAP submission typically includes:-

1. Part Submission Warrant (PSW):
A formal document that provides information about the part, the supplier, and the reason for submission. It certifies that the parts meet all customer requirements and specifications.

2. Part Drawing(s):
Detailed drawings of the part, including dimensions, tolerances, materials, and any other relevant specifications.

3. Design Records:
Documentation related to the design of the part, such as design FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), design validation plan, and design validation test results.

4. Process Flow Diagram:
A diagram that outlines the steps in the production process, from raw materials to finished parts.

5. Control Plan:
A document that outlines the controls and measures in place to ensure that the production process consistently meets quality requirements.

6. Measurement System Analysis (MSA):
Documentation that demonstrates the accuracy and reliability of the measurement systems used to inspect the parts. 7. Dimensional Results:
Records of measurements taken on sample parts to verify that they meet dimensional requirements.

8. Material Certifications:
Certificates or documentation that verifies the materials used in the production process meet specified standards and requirements

9. Initial Sample Inspection Report (ISIR):
A report that documents the results of inspections conducted on sample parts to verify their compliance with specifications.

10. Appearance Approval Report (AAR):
Documentation that verifies the appearance or cosmetic requirements of the parts.

11. PPAP Submission Checklist:
A checklist used to ensure that all required documents and information have been included in the PPAP package.
